Future Leaders Challenge Inaugural East Africa Edition to Take Place in Nairobi with Cabinet Secretary’s Patronage

Nairobi, Kenya – 26 March 2025 – The Future Leaders Challenge (FLC) is proud to announce that the Honourable Ms. Rebecca Miano, EGH, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, and Chair of the Global Tourism Resilience & Crisis Management Centre East Africa (GTRCMC-EA), has been named the Patron of the inaugural East Africa edition. This event is scheduled to take place between 28 and 29 of April 2025 at Strathmore University and Boma International Hospitality College in Nairobi, Kenya. Ms. Miano’s patronage signals the government’s strong commitment to youth empowerment, sustainable development, and leadership within the tourism and hospitality sectors in the region. In her capacity as Patron, Miano emphasised the transformative nature of the platform, stating that, “The Future Leaders Challenge is a timely and crucial platform dedicated to fostering innovation, leadership, and sustainable solutions in hospitality and tourism. Its mission to cultivate future leaders aligns closely with my own commitment to youth empowerment, conservation, and sustainable development.”.

Miano’s endorsement not only highlights the significance and credibility of the FLC East Africa but also reflects the government’s dedication to creating a skilled, responsible workforce to support the region’s growing tourism industry. As the region continues to grow as a global tourism hub, the FLC will play a critical role in ensuring that the next generation of leaders is ready to lead with vision, responsibility, and expertise.
